| Note | Arthur appears as age 5 and with his family in London, Ontario, in the 1881 census. In 1891, he is 15 and with his family on the 6th of April at the time of the enumeration in London; he is also with his sister Luella Vivian on the 16th of April in Winnipeg. At the time of the U.S. 1900 census, he is in a boarding house in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is shown as a musician. In 1910, he is in Manhattan, New York, and is shown as a musician. He apparently has his own household with a lodger and a servant. In 1918, he is age 42 and issued a draft card, apparently from Chattanooga, Tenn., but his permanent address is shown as 2025 Broadway, New York City. He is shown as a 'songleader', and something else that is illegible. His place of employment is shown as being as Macon, Georgia. His nearest relative is Mr.. Steven Frederick Lawrason, brother, at 643 Nelson, London, Ontario, Canada. We have no information that he was ever actually called up. It does not appear that Arthur ever married or had children. No death registration for him has been found. The Middlesex and London Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society has a transcription of Mount Pleasant Cemetery in which he is shown as being buried. His death date is given as 28 June, 1932. |
