ID # 3004, (1862-)
Father | Purvis Miller Lawrason (1834-1903) |
Mother | Amanda Adams (1838-1912) |
Birth | Alexandra Lawrason was born in 1862. |
Marriage | She married George Rivers Sanderson on 12 April 1882 at Hamilton Road, London, Middlesex Co., Ont.. Mrge reg. 007225-82 City of London, Middlesex Co. George Rivers Sanderson, 25, bachelor, surveyor. Methodist. Born Toronto, residing London East. Parents George R. Sanderson and Mary A. Tackaberry. Alexandria Lawrason, 20, spinster, born Burford, residing London. Parents Purvis M. and Amanda Lawrason. Witnesses Minnie G. Niles of London East and James A. Kennedy of London, Ontario. On 12 April, 1882, at Hamilton Road, London, by Rev. G. R. Sanderson. The above registration is ill-written on two points. George's middle name appears to be Rivers and interpreted as such; the bride's given name as written is a mess. 'Alexandria' is chosen as it seems to work best with census information. |
Note | Alexandra, in the 1871 census at Burford, is shown as a male - Alexander. The 1881 census at has her as Alexandria. Her marriage registration is no help, for some sort of correction was entered in as an overwrite and the last part of her name is unreadable. Alexandra and George are found in the 1910 U.S. census at Chicago. They are shown as lodgers in a hotel, or rooming house. The page is very faded and hardly readable. It does show that they immigrated in 1885. In this census, George is shown as a lawyer. Alexandra's husband died in 1921. Alexandra was a witness at the marriage of her sister Luella in London in 1922. She gives her address as Chicago. A later record for Alexandra has not been found. |
