| Note | Alfred Vrooman, age 3, is shown with his parents in Townsend Township, Norfolk County, in the 1851 census. There is a possibility, just, that he is also the Alfred Vrooman, age 5, shown with the family of Daniel's uncle, Adam Vrooman Jr., in Moulton Township, Haldimand County. A reasonable candidate for the Alfred Vrooman, age 5 in 1851 in Moulton as a more immediate member of the Adam Vrooman Jr family has not been found later. While this possibility seems remote, other Vrooman examples exist to testify to the interconnectedness of the extended family. Alfred also appears with his father, mother, and siblings in Townsend Township in the 1861 and 1871 censuses. A death registration for Alfred has not been found. We show his date of death, 3 January, 1880, from a transcription his gravestone in Oakwood Cemetery at Simcoe, Ontario, provided by the Norfolk County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. |
