Note | At the time of the death of Geraldine Ellington in 1920, Sabina Bookless was said to be living in Guelph. Such records as we find vary with the spelling of Sabina's name. Some have her as Sabrina, but Sabina appears to be correct. Certainly, she is shown as Sabina in George Bookless' will and her own. A comment here about the name Sabina as it appears in the 1949 Vrooman Family History book. According to a story in the introduction, the original Sabina was the sister of Frederick III. She married a Count Egmont. This was in the 1500s. According to an unconfirmed family legend, they were the founders of the Vrooman family. It may be that Admiral Nelson Vrooman was aware of the story and that it was the source of the name of his youngest daughter.
