Place of burial Windsor Grove Cemetery. Informant R.H. Holmes, Windsor. A death notice in the Tuesday, October 14, 1919, edition of the Toronto Star reads as follows: MYERS - In Chatham General Hospital, Oct. 12, after a brief illness Rev. Peter Myers of Wallaceburg, for many years a minister of the Methodist Church. Funeral from Windsor Methodist Church, Tuesday at 2 pm. Earlier records show Peter's name with the spelling of Miers. Later ones show Myers. It would seem that in later years, Peter's family used the spelling Myers and his children apparently used the Myers form. The 1901 census shows Peter's date of birth as 4 June, 1856. This may be correct, though earlier records suggest a birth year of 1853. Peter is buried with his second wife, Mary, in Windsor Grove Cemetery, Windsor, Essex Co.l. |
