| Note | In 1881, George and Kitty are in Georgina Twp., North York (County of York). He is a station agent. Lena is one year old. George's ethnic origin is described as Hollander. At the time of the 1891 census, George and his wife, Kitty G., are in the village of Sutton in York County. There, he is a station agent. In 1901, he and Kitty are still in Sutton, but he has something to do with Hardware. In 1911, he and Kitty and daughter Etta are in Lethbridge, Alberta. He appears to be a hardware merchant. Find-a-Grave provides us with a photo of a grave stone for George 'Lawes' Vrooman. It gives his date of birth as 16 May, 1851, which agrees with information so far found. His date of death is shown as 24 April, 1913. He is buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge, Alberta. The 1891 census shows George and Kitty with four children: Lena, Etta, Ernest and Harold. No record has been found for later children. |
