Smith McCully Layton

     Smith McCully Layton was born on 1 December 1900 in Truro, Nova Scotia.1,2 He was the son of Charles Frederick Layton and Laura Hannah McCully.1 He married Mabel Elizabeth Manery, daughter of William James Manery and Ellen Mary McCurdy, on 14 February 1925 in the residence of W J Manery, Penticton, British Columbia.1 He was a trainman on the railroad.2 He died on 9 January 1930 of an accident in Romeo Siding, British Columbia, at age 29.2 He was buried on 12 January 1930 in Penticton, British Columbia.2
